Next meeting will be Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in a different meeting room than normal at Joplin Public Library, 5:30pm – 8:00pm or any part of that time you can make it. We will be in Conference Room 1, which is at the far end of the cafe area.
We are having a BYOP for this meeting. I will have a handout with some pictures about next month’s class which will be Book Folding Art. More information at our meeting.
You are always welcome to BYOP (Bring Your Own Project) that you are working on even on months we are having a class. Plus bring any of your projects you would like to for Show n Tell.
Each month I will edit this post to show the next meeting so please check this blog page monthly.

I am excited about knitting the wrap! I may end up keeping it for myself. I am looking forward to the display of work in JPL this November!

I’m planning on keeping the wrap for myself. I’m not as fast as some of you knitting but I’m trying to work on a few rows a night and see how far I can get by our next meeting.

I am so looking forward to many new projects next year. There never seems to be enough knitting time in the day.

i have never made it to the chat n’ craft before and was interested in this. Are there other crafts they offer each meeting or just knitting and crochet????

You can work on anything you want to bring to work on. Even if it’s something you don’t know how to do. Someone will probably be able to help you and if we don’t have someone there that night we will find out by the next meeting. Me personally, I’ve worked on some quilting projects, some embroidery. We have classes every other month and ask the group what they would like. If you have an idea we would love to hear it. Look forward to seeing you there.

Hi – very great web site you have created. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to issue a comment to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically pleasing. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor in chief for a merchandising firm. I have always enjoyed working with information processing systems and am trying to learn code in my free time (which there is never enough of lol).

I am always looking for new technics in crochet. Does anyone know the Tunician crochet? Can’t quite get the hang of it.
March 15, 2010 at 4:16 pm
Yes we do have several that know Tunisian crochet. We had a class on it a couple of years ago. You are welcome to come to a meeting and bring your crochet hook and yarn and someone will be glad to show you.
February 15, 2011 at 8:18 pm
I’ll bring a couple extra hooks in case anyone wants to try it first before buying a hook — or has trouble finding a hook. I’ve been playing with some Tunisian stitch samplers; it is the only thing that has held my interest lately.
February 15, 2011 at 9:07 pm
I was going to pick up an extra hook or two but the stores have been out. So glad you have some to bring. Not sure if all the ladies have been able to get one. I’ve got a couple of dishcloths made and another started to show during class.

Michaels has size J afghan hooks in stock for $2.79 each.
February 21, 2011 at 3:04 am
I am looking forward to the tunician instructions and will be coming straight from work.
Michaels does have the J afghan (tunician) hooks for $2.79 each. They also have a wide selection of knitting needles on clearance and a few crochet hooks on clearance. (They are getting new things.)
Since I am coming to the chatncraft straight from work, you can call 624-8703 and let me know if you need hooks or yarn. I work at Michaels and I could get them before coming to the meeting.

Hello I am new to the area and would love to learn how to do some of this stuff. Also I have an 9 yr old daughter that loves doing stuff like this. Would she be able tk come? She does it with her grandma back home. If we come to the next meeting what all do we need to bring?
November 2, 2012 at 1:20 am
We have had a few young ones once in a while. You can bring her this month with you. It’s bring your own project month and planning for next years classes. Plus I have been asked to show the crochet crocodile stitch again because some couldn’t make it last month. If you want to learn that, bring a crochet hook and some light colored yarn. I look forward to meeting you.

So how do I sign up to be a member of the group? It sounds like a lot of fun and I love to make things!
December 3, 2013 at 5:44 pm
I am sorry, I must have missed your comment. You can come to Joplin Public Library the night we are meeting and join in the fun. The next meeting is December 9th, 2013. It’s a bring your own project night, so you can bring whatever you are already working on. I will try to have next year’s class bookmarks done so you will know which classes are coming up and when. I will also post them on this blog.
