Show n tell

We did not have a large group but we were working on a variety of different projects. One of the ladies had found some antique tools and we did not know what all of them were, besides crochet hooks, do you recognize any of them? I had never seen a tiny stell crochet hook with a cover to protect the hook before. I am wondering what the loop end and pointed on the other end tool is. Our whittler was here with his tools and I thought I would post a picture of them. Look at the tiny piece he was working on. He had finished a the baby rattle that he has worked on before. It is always amazing to see what everyone is working on. I love BYOP months just for that reason.

I did not get all the crafts being worked on but did get most of them. We had lots of fun and moved around the room. I had put out some free Quilt magazines and some craft books, still have about half of them left. We are always grateful when someone wants to donate their gently used magazines/books so we can enjoy them too.

I forgot to take a picture of my chunky crocheted sweater that I made from the class last month. At least one other finished hers and gave it away already. The green one I am working on for my 2nd one is in the pictures below. I used the bulky yarn they recommended this time and a larger hook than the pattern called for. Can’t wait to see how that is going to come out. I plan on working on it during the Olympics this month.

One lady was working on knitting two socks at one time. She was not very far along this month but we are looking forward to seeing how for she got next month. Hopefully will be able to get a good picture of them. Something that I have been wanting to try.

As you can see from the Show n Tell from above, we have been busy working on pinning together a quilt, make some bows, check out some new mesh wreaths, work on some crochet, knit and other quilt projects. What are you working on?

This year has been crazy with us moving to our new building. Since my normal job at the library is IT (technology) this has been an extremely busy year. I am very thankful for our regular Chat n Crafters. Planning for the meetings have been a great stress reliever for me. The new building has some issues, that I have been told is normal for a new building, but the kinks are being worked out.

I am sure there is a bunch more items that are being worked on by our group (there are a bunch of us that can not make it to the meetings every month) the following are the items that were being worked on or brought to the last two meetings we have had.

As our new building gets closer and closer to completion, the excitement is thick. It is also keeping staff very busy, keeping the current library running and handling all the details of the new building. Many staff have hobbies of various types including handwork. The items below are from the January and February and are current projects working on as well as a few completed items. Some are from the crochet planned pooling class that we had in January.

These are the pictures of items brought to our last 3 meetings. Pictures can not show all the detail of their beautiful work. You do see several of the mystery crochet afghans that were worked on this past year. 2017 we will bring back every other month classes. Look for the blog post for the classes to see if there is one you can’t wait to do.

We have several members let me know that they could not be there. I have handed out several patterns from previous months of other members that have had to miss. Hope everyone is enjoying some relaxing handwork of some kind. I know several that are working on Christmas presents and having some fond memories of those they are making them for. This year has been crazy busy for me and unfortunately have not worked on some of the projects that I was hoping to. On the plus side, I have not added any UFOs to my list this year. 😀

Does anyone know what this animal is?  I do! I do!

It was nice to be able to spread out while we worked on our projects. Several of the ladies brought some of the recently completed projects too. Enjoy!

We had several of the Mystery Crochet Afghan blocks this month plus some projects that are work in progress as well as some completed items. I am excited to see how everyone is progressing and hope next month more will be able to bring theirs.
